Answer for low oil pressure in a 617 turbo diesel engine after rebuild
It is going to be almost impossible to answer this question without knowing the work you performed on the engine..I had one case where I rebuild a motor and oil did not travel up into the cams, end up being a bad oil filter housing, the oil was not building pressure strong enough to travel up since one of the parts of the oil housing was cracked.. in order for the oil to travel all the way up you need to have everything assembled correct, the lube you used for the assembly does not have anything to do with it, look at it as if you have a long water hose with a lot of holes pocked throughout the length of the hose, if you cut the hose in the middle you won’t get water on the other side..find out where along the way the oil stops..good luck!
